Others simply relax by the water. After our break, we resume our descent by canoe. The river continues to meander between the cliffs. The currents carry us gently towards Reichenau. Along the way, we enjoy the peace and serenity of the area. Finally, we reach Reichenau. The satisfaction of having accomplished this descent fills us. We share our impressions, delighted by this adventure. The memories of this day will stay with us for a long time. This experience on the Anterior Rhine is a must.

You can take the Funyak down the Anterior Rhine from Ilanz to Valendas, a half-day adventure. You can also enjoy the classic canoe trip between Versam and Reichenau. Further downstream from the Rhine Falls, two routes are available: Schaffhausen – Rheinau, a half-day trip, or Schaffhausen – Rüdlingen, a full-day canoeing trip. Departing from Madesimo, we begin our journey along majestic forests and peaceful rivers, breathing in the pure mountain air. Our route then takes us to the imposing Montespluga dam, a breathtaking sight. Continuing on, we reach the ghost village of Montespluga, its snow-covered houses frozen in time. The adventure has only just begun, with another 10 km to go to the summit of the Splügen pass on the Swiss border, offering breathtaking panoramic views. From the summit, a grandiose spectacle stretches as far as the eye can see. After this unforgettable experience, we begin our descent, taking with us the memories etched in our minds, towards Madesimo, our starting point.

You fly from Buttwil in the direction of the Pilatus, which you then follow. Pilatus or Mount Pilatus is a mountain in the Uri Alps near the city of Lucerne. Then it’s on to the Titlis, a peak in central Switzerland’s Uri Alps. Its highest point is 3238 m above sea level. On the way back, you’ll head for the Mythen and Lake Ägeri, which you’ll fly over. The sun rises, and we begin our snowshoe trek. Crossing the snow-covered expanses, we admire the immaculate landscape. We reach our igloo-building site. Armed with shovels, we carve out blocks of snow, stacking them carefully to form our shelters. Around midday, it’s time for a fondue. In a convivial atmosphere, we dip pieces of bread into the melted cheese, savouring each mouthful with delight. In the afternoon, we resume our work to finish our igloos. Then we put on our snowshoes and head back to base camp.

On the other hand, you’ll walk short stretches from one waterfall to the next, before completing a spectacular abseil. Highlights include abseiling over the 130-metre-high waterfall.
