The whole team welcomes you. After spreading the envelope, the pilot activates the fan to blow air into the balloon. The air is still cool because it’s so early. The pilot then activates the burners to heat the air propelled inside the envelope. Slowly the ball rises, imposing and majestic. It’s time to climb aboard by stepping over one side of the gondola. The pilot operates the burners for around 15 seconds until the balloon leaves the ground. The journey over the Three Lakes region begins. Only the hiss of pilot flames from the burners can be heard. This 90-minute flight takes you over the mountains of the Bernese Oberland. It’s an unforgettable experience. You fly for 45 minutes and finally you’re close to the Eiger Mönch and Jungfrau massif. For the return flight, you fly along the imposing massif culminating at 4158 m. Then continue your flight over the Sustenhorn at 3502 m. Next comes the Titlis, culminating at 3238 m, which you fly over before landing again in Buttwil.

The appointment is made and our team welcomes you on the day of the flight at the agreed location. Once the envelope is on the ground, the pilot turns on the blower to inflate the balloon. The pilot then takes control of the burners and starts operating them to heat the air in the envelope. The Montgolfière rises proudly 30 metres above your head. The pilot invites you on board. First, at Buttwil airfield, your instructor gives you a short theory. Then you’ll head out onto the tarmac to your aircraft for a few minutes’ technical inspection with the instructor. Then, after settling in at the controls, you wait for permission from the control tower to drive away. OK! You throttle up and take off on runway 34. In less than 350 m of taxiing, you’re in the air, flying your Cessna.
