    From Schänis aerodrome, you take off towards the south-west. The Titlis rises to an altitude of 3238 m and is one of 57 other peaks over 3000 m in the Ural Alps. From here you have a magnificent view of Lake Lucerne. For the record, the Titlis was probably first climbed by monks in 1740. Some of the writings of the Engelberg monastery attest to this. You walk around the summit and then return to the Schänis aerodrome for a rest.
