Our instructor and pilot welcome you to our dropzone in Colombier. You’re in his company throughout your adventure. First, you repeat a few movements and positions with your arms and head. Then he gives you a harness adapted to your size, as well as a helmet and goggles. Then, still accompanied by your pilot, you will board the plane with other tandems. We look at each other, joke and the stress gradually disappears. You can feel totally at ease with your experienced pilot. The plane’s pilot turns off the throttle and you’re off on your adventure. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the view from the air. Below you lies Lake Neuchâtel and the city. The aircraft reaches the jump altitude of 4,000 m after about 20 minutes. The big moment approaches and your pilot makes the ultimate check. You both propel yourselves out of the plane and the free-fall speed begins to accelerate. It’s all good! You’re plummeting at nearly 200 km/h and an exhilaration of joy comes over you. At a height of 1,500 m, your pilot opens the parachute without jerking. Speed is reduced to less than 15 km/h and you continue your descent under your open parachute. Your pilot directs you to the Colombier dropzone for a smooth, seated landing.
