Take a tandem skydive over the Rhone plain in Valais at Sion

Skydiving is a celebration of life and all the incredible experiences it has to offer.

You will be met by an instructor-pilot on arrival at Sion airport. Once you’ve been introduced, he’ll give you a harness that fits you and the equipment you’ll need. Then you rehearse a few movements and body positions with him, especially the head position for freefall. Everything is ready and you’re on your way to the plane. You take your place on board with your pilot-instructor and other tandems, just as eager as you are to experience the great adventure. A joyful atmosphere reigns aboard the plane, a way to relax and avoid being overcome by a little anxiety. Your experienced instructor knows how to calm you down if he or she senses the slightest sign of concern. It’s part of his training to instill confidence in his passenger. As you climb above the Rhone valley, you’ll enjoy the scenery. The aircraft reaches the altitude required for a safe jump. The pilot of the wide-body aircraft gives the GO to jump. You and your instructor approach the release gate. He performs a final check, and together you propel yourselves out of the aircraft. Then, very quickly, everything accelerates: the speed of the freefall reaches 200 km/h, the sound of the wind amplifies and whistles in your ears. Don’t worry, your pilot manages and stabilizes this free-fall masterfully. For you, it’s an exhilarating minute that fills you with joy. All legitimate apprehension has dissipated. You reach an altitude of 1500 m, at which point your pilot opens the parachute. Thanks to its extractor, opening is performed without sudden impact. Your cameraman, if you’ve ordered him to do so, moves away from you at 200 km/h before opening his parachute. Then the descent continues peacefully until a soft landing on our dropzone in Sion.
You want to take the plunge, but you’re still stumped. No problem! You can do a freefall simulator in Sion or in Winterthur near Zurich. The sensations are very similar to real freefall.
