A two-hour hot-air balloon ride in the canton of Solothurn

You fly between the 3 lakes region to the south-west, Basel to the north, Zurich to the east and Bern to the south. Relatively flat, we’re on the Swiss plateau, also known as the Middle Country.

The participation of all is required. First you help unload the equipment and spread the balloon out on the ground. The pilot activates the fan to send cold air into the envelope. Then it switches to the burner controls to start heating the air inside the envelope. The ball slowly straightens until it is completely upright. Is everyone on board? Your pilot makes a final check and for a few moments operates the burners to heat the air to around 80 degrees. We’re off! The gondola slowly detaches from the ground and you begin your ascent. The sun’s rays appear and caress your face. A hot-air balloon flight is a very special adventure, an invitation to calm and, why not, meditation.
