From Schänis aerodrome, you take off towards the east. Säntis is part of the Alpstein, which belongs to the Appenzell Pre-Alps and is shared by 3 cantons. You walk around it and at this altitude you have a fantastic view of Lake Constance to the north. But also to Vorarlberg, Liechtenstein and the Austrian Alps. And further south, you have a view of the Graubünden Alps as far as the Bernina and Italy. Then westwards, on a clear day, you can see the Plateau all the way to the Jura. To the north-west, views of the Black Forest and the Vosges mountains with their famous fir forests. You cross the canton of Schwyz and then fly over the Uri Alps.
From Schänis aerodrome, you take off towards the south-west. The Titlis rises to an altitude of 3238 m and is one of 57 other peaks over 3000 m in the Ural Alps. From here you have a magnificent view of Lake Lucerne. For the record, the Titlis was probably first climbed by monks in 1740. Some of the writings of the Engelberg monastery attest to this. You walk around the summit and then return to the Schänis aerodrome for a rest.

This 2-hour flight takes you over the passes and peaks of the Graubünden Alps.
You take off from Schänis airfield for a long 2-hour flight to Graubünden and the Engadine. The Septimer pass, at an altitude of 2310 m, takes your breath away. Then the Bernina Pass at 2328 m altitude. This pass links the Engadine to Valtellina in Italy. In fact, it’s the only pass – the highest in the Swiss Alps – that remains open in winter too. You then continue your flight towards the Maloja pass, which rises to an altitude of 1815 m. This road pass is located in the commune of Bregaglia. Your flight continues to Piz Corvatsch, 3451 m above sea level. It is part of the Bernina chain in the Upper Engadine. Your journey then continues to Piz Bernina, 4048 m above sea level. It is the highest peak in the Bernina chain and in the entire eastern Alps. What’s more, it’s the only peak above 4000 m in the region. After this magnificent 2-hour touring flight, you can relax at the Schänis airfield.

This ski resort is located in the municipality of Oberiberg in the canton of Schwyz. Then you’re already above Andermatt, a major winter sports resort in the canton of Uri. The flight then takes you over the Furka road pass or Col de la Fourche, which rises to an altitude of 2429 metres. Your tour continues over the Simplon Pass in Valais, which rises to an altitude of 2006 m. Finally, you arrive at the Matterhorn, Switzerland’s mythical mountain at 4478 m above sea level.
