You cross the canton of Schwyz and then fly over the Uri Alps.
From Schänis aerodrome, you take off towards the south-west. The Titlis rises to an altitude of 3238 m and is one of 57 other peaks over 3000 m in the Ural Alps. From here you have a magnificent view of Lake Lucerne. For the record, the Titlis was probably first climbed by monks in 1740. Some of the writings of the Engelberg monastery attest to this. You walk around the summit and then return to the Schänis aerodrome for a rest.

During this flight, you’ll fly over a large number of peaks peaking at over 3,000 m altitude.
Leaving Buttwil, you head for Lucerne and fly over it. Continuing southwards, you head for Lake Sarnen and then on to Meiringen. The flight continues towards Obergoms, veering slightly to the right to fly over Brig. You’re crossing the Rhone; you’ve been flying for almost an hour and suddenly the Matterhorn appears in the distance. The mythical mountain if ever there was one. The Matterhorn is right next to you, and you can touch it with your fingertips. For your return flight, you’ll head for the imposing peaks of the Bernese Alps. Then you fly over Spiez and cross Lake Thun. Your pilot veers off slightly to the northeast and to your left you see Lake Sursee. The lakes of Baldegg and Hallwil pass by on your left, before you come to rest in Buttwil.

This whole area, an ancient lake city, reminds us that people lived here 3,000 years ago. They lived in houses built on stilts to protect them from flooding caused by the rising waters of the Aare. At that time, there was nothing around the lakes but marshland until 1868. It was at this time that the first correction of the Jura waters was undertaken to drain the marshes. This sightseeing and archaeological flight takes you back to Grenchen after 60 minutes.
